I used the chater as a taxi for a work related travel. Captain Robin was SO accomidating and helpful to me and my team. He was very kind and provided so many helpful services. I also spoke at least one person on the phone about my reservation several times. We had a bunch of odd things regarding payment as this was for my work. The person, or possible persons, I spoke to were beyond kind. I'm coming back to Boats and Fun (and Captain Robin) for my personal and work boating needs! I can't say enough great things!

The Boats and Fun staff were great! They were very helpful over the phone, and when were were ready to kayak they quickly and easily got us out on the water. Staff was waiting at the dock to help us out when we returned. Their equipment was in great shape and the location can't be beat. It was really fun to kayak and an extra bonus was seeing a mama manitee with her baby hanging around their dock catching water drops from the hose in her mouth.

As full time Cape Coral residents, we often take day trips out to North Captiva and Boats and Fun always makes that experience so much more enjoyable for us. We love their selection of newer golf carts to tool around the island during the day and their staff is always so helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

Great time on the Water in N Captiva! - N Captiva is a beautiful island with no cars...but you really need to go out on a boat to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the land and sea of this place. Not only is Boats and Fun the only place to rent your own boat, but it is an excellent place to do that. The team is super nice, informative and professional. We had a fantastic experience- the boat was in excellent condition and easy to use. They give you great instruction and direction. Totally recommend!

First time boaters Apr 2024 • Family Entire experience was great! We are not boating people (never driven a boat before). But decided to try it for a day while visiting North Captiva. We did all the online documentation prior to the trip. So the day before boat rental we did the orientation. Staff were friendly and patiently walked us through how to use the boat. On the day of our rental we were able to make it to costa cayo and Cabbage Key without and issue (besides losing two hats). Parking the boat back at Boats and Fun is intimidating and tight but staff helped walk through the steps. Overall highly recommend!

We highly recommend them for superb customer service, friendliness and professionalism. They made the Boat rental process very smooth, explained every aspect that we needed to know and were totally pleasant doing so. I so appreciated the clear guidance about going in and out of the harbor at North Cap, what time to get to Cabbage Key in order to get dockage and the ins and outs of enjoying Cayo Costa. This is a great company to work with! Mar 2024 • Family We just returned from Cape Coral with our whole family. We rented the twelve passenger Hurricane and were very pleased with the condition of the boat and the performance. It was used mainly for fishing by some of the family and also a day trip to Sanibel for the beach. We rented a boat during a recent visit to North Captiva. Boats and Fun made the process easy and provided great support via instructions and a laminated map book of the area. Captain Andrew who assisted us throughout the process recommended several stops and places to check out, which made our day even better. He also told us about dolphin alley and how to potentially get them to play in our wake, which resulted in 10+ minutes of dolphins playing in the wake of our boat. One of the coolest things I've ever experienced! The boat looked like it was brand new and it ran great. Definitely a recommended option during a stay in Captiva.

We booked a 4 hour charter with Captain Andrew and had an amazing and relaxing time. We anchored at Cayo Costa for some beach time, swimming, and shelling, saw some dolphins jumping, made a stop on Captiva for a cocktail at The Mucky Duck and grabbed some essentials before heading back to North Captiva. There is nothing better than being on the water and Captain Andrew was such a pleasure to talk with. I was building a boat. I never handled a boat before, so I hired the folks at Boats and Fun. I explained that I was looking for a center console boat since mine will be similar. They easily accommodated my request. The lesson was 2 hours long. For the first 45 minutes Captain Bill oriented my wife and I to the boat itself. We then went out to the docks and practiced docking and launching. Captain Bill was great. He was clear, calm and very patient. After that he taught me how to deal with the channel markets. How to get on plane . How to use gos effectively to follow a course. Both my wife and I loved the experience. In fact, we did a second booking with Captain Bill to reinforce the skills we were learning. I highly recommend this group for training as well as boat rentals.

What a great afternoon we had with Captain Andrew! Andrew was friendly, polite, and informative. He described and identified our surroundings and led us to the sea life we were hoping to see. The boat was comfortable and Andrew helped this group of seniors board and disembark. We went to Cabbage Key for lunch, and Andrew called and arranged for golf cart transportation from dock to restaurant. Andrew knew where to find manatees, and followed the dolphins once we sighted them. That was so much fun! We had a set of five dolphins following our boat, and Andrew did not rush us as we were all having so much fun watching them. Office staff was also efficient, and booking and billing were simple. It was a great afternoon!

Boats and Fun boat tours, North Captiva Had an amazing day on the water with Captain Andrew Greene. He knew all the right spots for viewing manatees & dolphins. In fact, we had a pod of 6 dolphins wake surfing behind us for a long stretch on the return to North Captiva. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable about all things Florida and beyond. I will definitely request Andrew if we decide on another boat tour when we return in February. A 5 star guy all the way!

We had a wonderful day on the water with Captain Andrew and the whole Boats are fun team. Captain Andrew knew right where the manatees were hanging out and we had a great viewing. Then on to Cabbage Key for lunch and cool drinks. On the way home a group of 5-6 dolphins joined us and Andrew found just the right speed and direction so the dolphins swam right by the side of the boat playing and entertaining us. We would highly recommend Boats are Fun and Captain Andrew. Andrew was very knowledgeable and personable. It was a great day!

Boats and Fun true to its name! Jul 2023 • Family Boats and Fun is fantastic to work with. We rented their Hurricane 217 SD for 10 passengers over the course of two separate days. The staff called ahead of time to set up an appointment to go over the boat rules and regulations, (which takes anywhere from a 1-1.5 hrs), as well as a look at the boat you will use on the day of your trip. Excellent staff helps you exit and enter the boating area (can be a tight fit) and assists with taking off your bags when departing. This was our second year renting from Boats and Fun and we will definitely continue.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Boats and Fun on North Captiva/Upper Captiva in July 2023. The front desk staff were friendly, informative, and helpful. We rented a paddleboard for the week (to keep at our rent house, which was super nice) and chartered a boat with a captain for a 3-hour scenic cruise and shelling adventure. We saw many dolphins and found zillions of sand dollars and shells. Having a captain who knows the area is hugely valuable when searching for ocean treasure!

Rented a paddleboard for a week and a boat for a day. The paddle board was nice, but the real highlight was boating for the day. We have lake boating experience but going on the Intercoastal Waterway was a first time for us. Staff was very helpful. An awesome boating experience! Apr 2023 I would highly recommend boats and fun. We did some sight seeing around north Captiva island with captain Andrew. He was extremely knowledgeable. The boat ride was smooth and flawless. We saw manities right up next to the boat, Dolphins jumping in our wake, and sea turtles surfacing near us. It was an amazing experience. We used this service for 2 days for boat transportation to and from north Captiva and rented a golf cart both days from this place. The 2 guys that took care of us was jacob & Andrew. Andrew was our boat captain that took us back and forth by boat. Jacob works the store so he handles your rental and fees. I told these two guys I don’t know who hired you two but they could not have picked two better guys to be the front guys for this business. They are both very friendly, kind and helpful. They made our experience great!! Highly recommend this service.

Great experience even in bad weather Great experience! We were set to travel with boats and fun as a tropical storm was approaching. Six Hour Tour of Fun Captain Andrew Greene was fantastic. We had two teens, two grandma’s and my wife and I. He made suggestions on what to and then listened to what we want to get out of the day. We saw manatees up close, lots of dolphins and other wildlife. Captain got the dolphins to chase the boat and follow our wake right behind the boat. It was a great show(s). We spend nearly two hours on Captive Island as well. All around a great six hour tour!

We rented a golf cart from Boats and Fun This past week. Upon returning the cart the charger had been accidentally taken by Island Club. We had to catch the Ferry and quite frazzled about the situation since we may have had to pay for the missing charger. Jake was very empathetic and kind. He went out of his way to find the charger and even texted me to let me know it was found. What a professional and thoughtful person! Boats and Fun, you’ve got a good one in Jake!!!! Boats and Fun Takes the Worry Out of Logisitcs Mar 2022 Where do I start.....Boats and Fun was one of the best customer service experiences we have had in a long time. Tyler was easy to book our water taxi with and a late week boat excursion. At the start of our trip our plane was delayed throwing off our logistics. Tyler texted me and helped me reschedule our water taxi which showed up at the dock exactly when our taxi let us out. A very stress free way to start a vacation. During our stay we took an excursion to Cabbage Key and had a great day! Our captain was great showing us around and looking for dolphins and manatees. On our last day we needed an early morning taxi where our skilled captain got us safely to mainland in the dark. Boats and Fun is the only way to go for your water taxi and boating needs. We will be back next year and will book through them again!

Private Water Taxi We have been to North Captiva a few times and have always taken the NCIC Ferry. This past spring we reserved a round trip private water taxi to haul our family of five as well as our luggage and groceries. It was a great experience all around and the kids loved the ride. The team is very accommodating and even called when an earlier time slot opened. Our groceries were delivered to the marina early and they moved to them to the island and secured them in the shade. We also parked our car for the week with them which worked out very well. I highly recommend Boats and Fun!

We had a great time! Our captain was very knowledgeable about the area. He took us to a secluded little beach. He had a great personality and we really felt comfortable. I would recommend Boats and Fun to anyone!

Captain Rob and Boats and fun During our trip to North Captiva Island in May, we booked a boat tour with Boats and fun. We were fortunate enough to be assigned, Captain Rob Finnie. We booked a three-hour boat tour, and Captain Rob packed it full of adventure and fun. Captain Rob provided details about the different islands, the history of the area, and unique opportunities to swim along a secluded beach, view various sea life--cow rays, manatees, and dolphins--, and take lunch at Cabbage Key. We would highly recommend others visiting the island to book an outing with Boats and fun and Captain Rob.

Captain Sam is awesome! We stayed on North Captiva and had the best experience ever. The last day our flight wasn’t until 8 o’clock so we decided to book a boat trip with boats and fun. We had the best time. Captain Sam was tremendous with information about the area. He even got dolphins I’m pretty sure six in a row to follow her awake we had a wonderful time it was all about relaxation. He took us to see manatee in a private place I feel like it was money well spent

Everything went so smoothly with our after hours water taxi to North Captiva! When an unexpected mishap left us without a key to our rental home upon our arrival, our captain stayed to help us and went above and beyond to find someone who could get us another key. I don't know what we would've done without his help.

fast, friendly and professional my husband and I rented a golf cart for use during our vacation on north Captiva. Boats and fun made it very convenient. We walked (by my choice) to B&F and with no hassle we were on our way. the staff was super friendly and professional. When I returned the golf cart, a young lady dropped us off at our rental so we did not have to walk back.

At your Service! Boats and Fun has mastered customer service. The day of our arrival to the island our flight was delayed. Jake from Boats and Fun kept in communication from the minute our plan landed until we reached the island. He arranged for a boat to pick us up an hour later and the transition from our taxi to the boat was seamless. We so appreciated the awesome customer service taking the worry out of our day. We also chartered a boat with Captain Sam for a three hour excursion which I highly recommend. We had lunch at Cabbage Key then cruised around watching for dolphins, manatees and even spotted a sea turtle. This operation is top notch- superior service and great people! We will be back with Boats and Fun next year for sure.

Magical day on North Captiva. We took a boat ride from Pine Island to North Captiva. Once we arrived we rented a golf cart from Boats and Fun. We toured the entire island checking out the beautiful homes, turtles and lush foliage. We then spent a couple of hours at the beach where the water was a beautiful aqua green. I had a very relaxing walk along the beach and found a bounty of very colorful shells. It was a sunny day with a slight breeze - perfect combination for a day at the beach. After leaving the beach we stopped in at the outdoor bar next to Boats and Fun for a tropical drink before heading home. Renting from Boats and Fun was very convenient. Upon arrival the guys at the counter quickly hooked us up with our golf cart and made sure we knew how to operate it. They were very friendly and professional. We will definitely be renting from them again.

Highlight of the trip We rented a boat for a day while spending the week at North Captiva. It was our favorite activity. We had a little boat experience (lakes), but had never boated in a coastal area. My husband was very nervous about renting a boat that we would drive ourselves, but after the required instruction and education ahead of time, he was quite comfortable with getting out on the water. (We both were drivers.). The folks at Boats and Fun gave us some great ideas as to how to spend our day. Our kids loved visiting a manatee hangout, exploring Cayo Costa and anchoring at a sandbar area. We ended the day at Captiva with an early dinner. This day trip was the highlight of the trip.

Boats and Fun has the BEST rentals! All of their rentals are in excellent condition, the staff is well trained on how everything works and educates you on how to use the boat or golf carts. They are helpful and friendly. Best rental store on the Island. Would never rent from anywhere else. The owner Mateo is very involved in the store and also on the Island. He is a good man! Next time you are visiting rent from Boats and Fun and stop in the store cause they have great merch too!

Awesome experience Boats and Fun are the best. We used them 3 days. We had 2 boats for a 6 hour island hopping tour. Dolphins were following us behind. It was awesome. My kids also went shark fishing and caught a 7 ft 250 pound shark. Great captains. Would definately use them again if we come back to island.

North captivea boats Great family boat tour from north captiva to captiva island near Jensens marina dock. Captain Ron Finnie was terrific pointing out local sites, stories and found schools of dolphins that rode the wake of the boat. Boat is comfortable 23 ft open bow with canopy for shade. Comfortably got our group of 6 probably best under 7 people. Instead of Cheeseburger in Paradise he headed south to Captiva where a short walk to shops and restaurants and bars right on the beach. Definitely recommend

Jake, Andrew and the crew on North Captiva are awesome. Excellent communication and service. This was our first time chartering from this outfit and we booked 4 more charters with them. The boat was perfectly clean, and comfortable. They are one of the few outfits that have 4 strokes so the ride is quiet! The nicest feature was their Garmin chart plotters pre loaded with all the popular routes to take all the anxiety out of shallow water navigation. We highly recommend this outfit.

As my first time at N. Captiva island, it’s definitely not my last! Boats and fun is a quaint little store with the best items for gifts or any need you may have while at the island. The taxi boat service was amazing - they are so attentive and kind and even got some dolphins to play in our wake creating an everlasting memory for us. North Captiva manatees and dolphins Our family of four booked a 2-hour private trip and had the pleasure of being taken out on the water by Captain Sam Terlingo. Our goal was to see a manatee and dolphins, and Captain Sam delivered! We slipped into a quiet cove and saw a manatee immediately. After a brief boat ride back into Pine Island Sound we found dolphins. It was spectacular as they swam alongside the boat, repeatedly jumping and showing off for us. Our kids were thrilled. Captain Sam’s knowledge of the area’s history and natural features added to the fun, and as avid boaters we appreciated his attention to safety (including a safety brief) and a clean well-maintained vessel. He is a true professional. Thanks Captain Sam for helping our family make memories that will last a lifetime!

Boating Made Easy! We have been to Captiva many times and this was our first time on North Captiva. We have done the shelling tour to Coya Costa in the past and wanted to do that again. When we looked at the pricing, it was almost the same cost to split a boat rental with the other family traveling with us. We had the boat for 8 hours. The MAJOR benefit was that when we arrived at Coya Costa, it was very windy and the shelling was poor. We were able to get back on the boat, go see some manatees and anchor off of another island that was almost private and shell for the rest of the day. The folks at the marina were very nice and knowledgeable and helped us with any question we had. They helped us get out of the marina and helped us dock when we arrived. We paid a small fee to upgrade to a 24' boat and it was worth it. Hands down we will rent from Boats and Fun again! You will not be dissappointed.

Nice 4 hour boat tour We are from Florida but had never visited the different islands in the area. It’s very nice. Our captain Rob was great and very knowledgeable giving us a bit of the history. We stopped at the sand bank, saw dolphins and manatees and stopped at Cabbage Inn. It’s worth it to have lunch there. I strongly suggest making reservations because they have all these rules where you can or can’t eat. Food is ok but place is very nice. Totally suggest a tour with Boats & Fun

Can't recommend enough We spent seven nights on Captiva island, and traveling with Captain Ron was the highlight of our trip!! He was super fun to talk to (and extremely knowledgeable about the island and ocean), and he even gave us food recommendations for when we got to the main island. Customer Service by Jake at Boats and Fun North Captiva Island was Excellent! We stayed on North Captiva Island in April 2021. Boats and Fun did not have the sweatshirt I wanted when we left so I decided to try the website when we got home. They had the sweatshirt (so I thought) and I ordered it. I received an email from Jake apologizing about a mistake in their inventory. He offered me the refund and said he would let me know if the sweatshirt came back in stock. I thought nothing of it until I got another email from him this week (September 2021) letting me know they had the sweatshirt and if I still wanted one. He made the purchase fast and easy with an instant invoice, and I am going to get my little piece of my memories from North Captiva. Boat Rental and Water Taxi We rented a boat for 3 days while in North Captiva and loved it! Captain Andrew was a great teacher and showed us everything we needed to know. The boats were immaculately maintained and allowed us to make the most of our experience on the island and areas around it! We went to Cabbage Key for burgers (Jimmy Buffet approved), Captiva for ice cream at the Bubble Room, and exploring Cayo Costa where there were full sand dollars and starfish! We used the water taxi service to skip the ferries and we were able to bring everything we needed to the island. Captain Ron was a great tour guide and we loved talking with Captain Andrew on the way back!

You Can’t Go Wrong with Boats and Fun! We highly recommend Boats and Fun! We used them for a private water taxi to and from North Captiva, rented a boat from them for 3 weeks, and a golf cart for several days. They are the best rental company we’ve ever worked with. All of their equipment is brand new, clean, and in perfect working order - and that is very uncommon down here. Their customer service is top notch. And if you rent a boat, they provide expert guidance about boating in this area which can be tricky with the very shallow water. Their boating guidebook provides info on all points of interest including a map, directions, and restaurants, shopping, etc. The boats all have GPS with most common routes already plugged in. So helpful! We would highly recommend using them without any hesitation!

Awesome North Captiva Day Trip We had an Awesme Day on the Pelican this week while vacationing on North Captiva! We fit ten comfortably on the boat and did a little island hopping. We stoped at a couple of beaches, the manatee hole and had a cheeseburger in paradise at Cabbage Key. We saw a couple pods of dolphins on the north side of Cayo Casta and a couple more manatees on the south side while shelling. The boat was super clean and ran great. Captain Ron walked us through the basics of gettig arond the islands. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We had trouble getting the stereo to turn on, but a quick phone call to Boats and Fun and a flip of a switch took care of that, We booked for a full day and it was well worth it.

Excellent staff, shop, and equipment!! We cannot recommend Boats and Fun enough. Their non motorized rental equipment (SUP boards & kayaks) are top notch and high quality. But their boat rentals are even better. We had the privilege of renting one of their newest boats in their fleet for two consecutive days. We had a blast. The staff is incredible! I called Boats and Fun from Tampa before we left for our trip to Cape Coral. I wanted to find out if they were able to accommodate my daughter who is 22 and uses a wheelchair. I wanted to visit Cabbage Key with both my daughters because I had been as a kid and had wonderful memories. Captain Mike and I spoke about the specifics of the trip and he just simply said "We'll find a way?" We met at the marina and were able to lift Sarah (who only weighs 95 lbs) into the boat and place her travel wheelchair secure in the back for the ride. He stopped along the way to show us dolphins and then we had a beautiful ride to Cabbage Key. It was so relaxing and fun. He truly cares about making sure his customers have a good time and he was especially helpful with accommodating someone with a disability. My daughters had such a great time. I would suggest a ramp for the boat if you have a larger adult but for a small person or child with a disability it was pretty easy to get her in the boat and then the restaurant has an accessible golf cart and the restaurant is accessible. If I could give a higher rating than 5 starts it would be 1000. It was one of the best days I've spent with my girls EVER!! Thank you, Captain Mike. You are a treasure.

Great day Island hopping. We have rented a boat from Boats and Fun on North Captiva for the last 3 or 4 years and every time we have had a great experience. They always go over the whole boat and operation of it along with the GPS and places to go and see, even if you've done it with them before. Captian Ron and Matias are great and answer all questions without making you feel like a first-timer. We'll be back to North Captiva again and will be renting from the helpful folks at Boats and Fun again when we do.

Our trip to North Captiva was amazing because of the wonderful people at Boats and Fun! Captain Andrew took us to and from our rental. Rachel and Jake (I think- blond hair and often at the front desk) helped us out with kayaks, a golf cart, fishing rods and multiple fish orders. Captain Mike took our family in an unforgettable tour. We saw dphins and they played in the wake of the boat. Our children were thrilled! Thank you Boats and Fun for making our vacation amazing!

North Captiva Boats and Fun we spend 2 weeks in North Captiva Island in Florida and we used Boats and Fun for many of the resources they offer. 1. Purchased Fresh seafood from them. 2. If you're going to North Captiva I would use these guys for your rental needs. Very professional and friendly. Was able to get some paddle boards from them with zero problems and had a great time. I've heard good things about renting golf carts and boats from them as well. They also have a cool shop to browse in as well.

A++ Rating for Boats and Fun Staff Every single person on Boats and Fun staff provided us with outstanding service. All the fishing guides were booked during our stay. They explained that there are TONS of fish to catch, right off the beaches, went over the lures (what to expect from each) so my husband could make an informed purchase. We were provided a map with specific information about each area. He and our son caught Snook, Spanish mackerel, ladyfish, speckled trout, pompano, & others I can't recall. If you're interested in shelling (like I am), they know the best areas to go and which to avoid. The South Bank Trail was recommended; it's a MUST if you truly love isolated beaches. I had the place to myself 2 days in a row and it was glorious. The staff will happily explain tour options vs boat rental, set you up with rods/reels, bikes, kayaks, etc. My husband & I went out on a boat tour so I could do additional shelling, which did not disappoint. Everyone at Boats and Fun is well-informed, incredibly helpful, and their insight definitely enhanced our stay on the island.

2 hour Dolphin/Manatee excursion with Captain Ron I recently had the pleasure of taking the 2 hour Dolphin/Manatee search excursion with Captain Ron. Although we didn’t get to see any Manatee (Not for Captain Ron’s lack of trying, they’re out of season in the open water) we did see many Dolphin frolicking and doing Dolphin shenanigans. It was an amazing experience and a highlight of my stay in Cape Coral. Captain Ron was very knowledgeable and engaging, he made us feel like we were hanging out on a friends boat having a spin around the Gulf. I highly recommend this excursion with Captain Ron, fun for both adults and children of all ages

Great day in the gulf Had an awesome time today on a boat tour with Captain Robin on Double the Fun. Robin found some dolphins right away to swim in our boats wake. Although we didn’t have luck at the manatee hole, Robin took use to a sand bar to find sand dollars he also found a manatee at the sandbar. Robin was a great captain and made our day with the tour. Great experience that I highly recommend.

Exhiliarating experience renting a boat from Boats and Fun We visited Cape Coral (9 adults) in May 2021 - we had rented a house on one of the Cape Coral canals and decided to rent a boat. The two adult guys in the group had never "driven" a boat before so we were very apprehensive about boating for the first time. We requested a half day lesson and were fortunate to get Capt Alberto. He spent close to 5 hrs with us patiently teaching us all aspects of the boat and answering every question. Now a 5 hr lesson is definitely not enough to make us experts but our confidence level rose after the lesson. The boat we rented was a Hurricane 21 foot that could accommodate 10 adults. We rented it for the next 4.5 days and could not have made a better decision. From Cape Coral, we visited (on different days), Sanibel island, Captiva (beautiful beach and a dock for the boat available) and the Yacht club in Cape Coral. Given the fact that we were rank amateurs, we needed the boat to be perfect - we could not have handled any issues with the boat and that's how it turned out. The experience was so good that we are considering - for the 2 guys to go one weekend earlier and request a lesson again (next year) - then go for a week with the family when we have greater confidence in handling the boat Our kids were instagramming - "Went in OUR boat to Captiva; spend the day on this beautiful beach; came back and jumped in our pool (most houses have pools)" .. felt like the proverbial "Kennedy" kids and the rental from Boats and Fun was the biggest part of this wonder vacation.

Spent the day with Captain Robin on a boat tour where we asked to see dolphins and manatees. We were not disappointed! We found a pod of dolphins pretty quickly and had them following us for quite awhile. The manatee cove was empty, except for some jumping fish, so he took us out to a sandbar to look for sand dollars. While at the sandbar he spotted a manatee so we boarded the boat to get a closer look. All in all a great day on the water! I would highly recommend Captain Robin.

A wonderful tour near North Captiva Our family took a boat tour with Captain Robin from North Captiva Island and it exceeded our expectations. Captain Robin was friendly and professional. He took us to see dolphins and we watched as they followed our boat and played in the surf. We then went to lunch at cabbage key for a cheeseburger in paradise. Captain Robin was waiting for us as soon as we were ready. We then went to see manati and he knew just to where to spot them even though another boat that was leaving the area said they didn’t see any. We saw three - including a calf! Lastly, we went to a sandbar where we were able to snorkel (we brought gear) and found 4 perfect sand dollars to bring home and spotted a starfish, conch, and crab! It was an amazing experience and worth every penny!

I can’t say enough about Boats and Fun on North Captiva! We took 2 water taxis to get to and from the island. The boats were clean and maintained, the captains were amazing at docking and maneuvering and they were on time for our arrival and departure. They not only did their job well, they were a reliable company on the island, one that went above and beyond their duties. I had forgotten my phone at a VRBO we had rented and unable get ahold of the management company to address my needs. I called Boats and Fun (who have nothing to do with our VRBO rental) and Matthew and Jake took care of it. Even when swamped with a turnover of guests leaving and coming to the island, Matthew went to find my phone. That is customer service at its best, going above and beyond their duties to help someone out. Thank you so much!

We love dealing with companies that do all they can to accommodate your needs and this company does just that! We rented a Golf cart while on Upper Captiva ( A MUST on the island) and were greeted by wonderful associates that checked us in quickly and got us on our cart and out the door! During our visit, our cart got a flat tire ( there is some construction going on on the island) and they fixed it with a new tire immediately with out a wait, and we were once again on our way. I highly recommend them for renting golf carts, kayaks and other fun island adventures!

We rented "The Shark" and took it over to Captivas Jensen Marina. We then went out to some fishing spots that Captain Ron provided. We also rented 3 poles from Boats and Fun and caught 1 blowfish (we threw back) 4 catfish and 1 blue runner. The GPS system was very easy to follow. The crew were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a BLAST and would do it again and recommend for anyone visiting North Captiva Island.

Thank you Boats and Fun for a perfect week on NC We spend a week on NC each year and our trip would not be complete without renting a boat from Matias and his team. Capt. Mike always takes great care of us as well as does Capt. Ron and the rest of the professional team! The boats we have rented are always in great condition and the team is very through in their pre-boating training to make sure we are familiar with the boat and water regulations. Great experience We rented kayaks, paddle boards, and fishing gear for the week. They were awesome! They attached a trailer to my golf cart and loaded it for me. They let me keep the trailer for a week so we could haul it all to different locations (they borrowed the trailer here and there and brought it back). They picked it all up from our rental house when we left. They guys working there are great and friendly and accommodating. They were great on hooking us up with a nice fishing pole as well.

Then, unfortunately small craft warnings prevented our trip from taking place as scheduled. But they cheerfully and promptly refunded. I was visiting the island with my 2 daughters and the golf cart from our rental home stopped running. The closest business was the Boats and Fun shop. I spoke with Robin who was extremely helpful and spent the next 30 repairing my golf cart! At NO charge!! It wasn’t even one of his rentals. Every aspect was excellent. We rented a Century for a day over spring break. We’ve rented boats all over the world- Bahamas, Europe, Africa.... my wife and I both agreed that Boats n Fun is the best run operation we’ve seen. The whole process is scripted and organized- training takes an hour done the day before your rental- it’s thorough, and they’ve developed a map book that covers every aspect of the rental. The day of our rental we arrived and immediately were assigned a “captain” to get us underway. He inspected the boat with us, and took pictures. There was no sneaky BS- if there was a rub rail with a scratch, it got noted so we wouldn’t be liable for it. That took about 15 minutes, and we got going. The GPS is preloaded with all the routes, and the boat itself was in perfect operating condition. We spent the day exploring some remote beaches and watching manatees. It was great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Have Fun with Boats and Fun Excellent week long motor boat rental experience from Captain Bill and the team on North Captiva. The boat (Hurricane 24) was like new, clean and perfect for a big family. Great Boat Rental Experience We rented a boat for two days to keep at our rental property in the area and it was the best decision ever! Our boat was lovely (and decently priced) and we were given an extensive overview of the area so we felt like local pros. Great Team Great Time! What an exceptional experience! We used this group both for our water taxi and a 2 day boat rental, and the service and guidance we received made both an important part of our trip to North Captiva. The safety protocols were very apparent, and the guidance we received relative to safe passageways around the islands was very useful. I'm fairly experienced on a boat, but the pre-programmed GPS and the map book made the travel worry free. Highly recommend this group!

We loved all 3 trips with Boats & Fun! The first was a shark fishing trip. While we didn't catch any sharks, we had a blast trying! The second was with Captain Mike. He was so personable and great with our 9 year old. He showed us around and was amazing at getting the dolphins to follow us! We had such a good time that we came back the next day so Captain Mike could take us to Xabbage Key for lunch. That was such a nice trip and great lunch! Fantastic Company We rented a boat for 10 days from Boats and Fun and they were absolutely fantastic to work with. Our group has had the pleasure of renting boats in the Bahamas and various other places including Lake Como in Italy and we therefore have a good understanding of a nice boat rental company which Boats and Fun definitely is! They were very professional in the way they handled our training session explaining the boat and the locations we could boat to and their laminated hand outs were very thorough and useful while we took different day trips on the boat to various locations! We rented from them at their North Captiva location and I would highly recommend them. Something I would definitely not recommend is renting any property managed by the North Captiva Island Club! They were very unprofessional and did their best to ruin our trip to North Captiva including insinuating that the BEDBUGS we found in the house rental were planted by us! Unbelievable!!! So my advice after traveling to various various locations around the world is if you visit this beautiful island of North Captiva do not rent a property through North Captiva Island Club but do definitely rent a boat through Boats and Fun!!! Can't Stop Smiling On This Boat Tour! We had a private boat tour with Boats and Fun from the North Captiva location and had the best day ever! Captain Robin is a fantastic guide and was very knowledgeable, fun, personable, and mindful of COVID safety. We felt very safe as both he and our family wore masks the entire time, which is not mandated in Florida, and not all businesses operate with this safety in mind. We had multiple experiences with dolphins surfing behind our boat, saw manatee, went shelling on a sandbar, and stopped at Cabbage Key for an outdoor lunch and drinks. I highly recommend this company! They really take your safety into consideration during this difficult time, as well as that of their employees, which is a small business most definitely worth supporting to keep afloat (forgive the pun). We can't wait to do this again when we return!

We were a little nervous about renting a boat for a day. Being from Michigan, I have a little experience with boating, but in Lake Erie. Captain Mike was an excellent teacher, by the time we finished going over everything, we were super comfortable with taking the boat out. He told us good spots to go, gave very specific directions, made us repeat the important rules and program the GPS before getting on the boat. The boat was clean and beautiful. We had an amazing day! The weather was iffy, storms predicted in the afternoon, he instructed us to keep an eye on our phones/weather radar, and what to do if we were out and a storm rolled in. He ended up calling us and telling us that the storms were coming, didn't tell us that we had to come back early, but recommended that we head back in the direction of North Captiva to be on the safe side, which we did. Awesome day!! I know there was a bad review because of the deposit cost, but honestly if someone were taking my boat out, I'd do the same. We got it back of course.

But before we even put the boat in the water we engaged Boats and Fun to help us launch and to show us what to do. This may turn out to be the best money we have spent in this entire venture and adventure! In selecting who to help us we were attracted by Boats and Fun’s website which was comprehensive and professional and in calling them we were delighted to learn that this is not simply window dressing – it is representation of who they are. From the moment we explained our situation and needs, they provided advice and a plan to help. There was no oversell – Boats and Fun in fact suggested we scale back what we thought we might need for time for our initial lesson warning that we risked mental overload. They were right! Throughout the process they exceeded our expectations. Our Instructor – Captain Matias Barbero – met us at our home (where the boat was) and walked us around and over ensuring that we knew what was what and we had the correct safety gear. He even offered to reverse us down the boat launch – which we gladly accepted. Our hands on training was well paced and delivered confidently and professionally. We were learning a lot of basics but he never made us feel like idiots. To close our session off we went through some ‘classroom’ learning and reinforced key learnings. We ended with a suggested plan for some future training as our skills develop but there was no hard sell – it was consumer driven. We’re sure that not everyone takes training at the start – but it suited our skill level and needs and this company really was really on the mark. We heartily recommend Boats and Fun and Captain Matias.

labor day vacation We were in North Captiva for a weeks vacation. We chartered boats and fun with capt Mike. He told us all the history and stories of the different islands. First He took us to Jensen marina so guys could get more fishing tackle. Then went to cabbage key for an awesome lunch. Then we headed to Sanibel but the weather there prevented that. So instead we anchored of the coast of Caya Costa and looked for shells. Then rode around the gulf side of North Captiva to watch for dolphins. Then to boats and fun marina in pineland to catch taxi for grocery run(beer). Then dolphin watched back to north captiva. The dolphins really put on a show. We can't wait to go back. Already planning our next trip. Capt Mike gets 5 stars. Wish I could give more.

I've lived in Florida for a long time now and had not taken the opportunity to go out and experience a good trip on the water. Thankfully, Boats & Fun made the experience fantastic! Captain Robin gave us an excellent tour that started in Pine Island, Cape Coral. He took us to a sandbar where we found a bunch of sand dollars, which at the time we thought it was our payment for the ride as Robin jokingly put it, lol. Captain Robin was full of jokes and stories about every area we were in. He also made sure that we got to see dolphins and turtles, which was definitely the highlight of our day! Overall I can say that Boat & Fun has a very knowledgeable staff that provides excellent customer service and a very positive environment. Thank you, Captain Robin, for an AMAZING tour! The PERFECT boat rental We had an adult vacation with 4 couples on North Captiva, and rented a boat for a day. Andrew and Matias were amazing instructors and overall guidance on what to do, how to get there, and plan the perfect day trip. The equipment was in perfect condition. We will return and probably do multiple days next time! We saw dolphins, manatees, gators, lunch at Cabbage Key and shopping on Captiva. What memories we made, unbelievable.

Great experience, highly recommend. We used boats and fun for our round trip boat ride to North Captiva and for a day out on the water. Everyone we met was friendly and professional. We had choppy water on our day out and didn’t see any dolphins. On our ride back to Pine Island, we saw one peek out of the water and our driver Mathas went out of his way to circle around for another view and got it to jump in our wake. Great fun and customer service We took a wildlife and snorkeling tour with Captain Robin from the North Captiva location. Wonderful tour from a friendly and helpful guide. We also bought fresh fish and seafood from the store multiple days as well as gifts and supplies. Rachel, Matias and every other member of the staff were super friendly and helpful. This is one of the highest levels of customer service I’ve seen at any tour company. My family and I also really appreciated the care taken with COVID-19 precautions. Highest recommendation!

We took a private island tour with Boats and Fun and it was amazing! “Captain Bill” took us to a secluded sandbar where we found dozens of sand dollars, and then around to Cabbage Key where we had an amazing lunch and the kids got to play with tortoises! Great fishing Excursion with Captain Daltyn I highly recommend Boats and Fun on North Captiva Island. My family of six had a great fishing expedition with Captain Daltyn. He made sure we found fish and he made it fun for everyone. He spent the whole time baiting hooks and telling us fun facts about the area and the fish we were catching . When we moved to SWFL, we bought a boat. Just like everyone else. I never felt comfortable going out on it or docking or pretty much doing anything with it. I mostly had anxiety that something ominous would happen and I'm an old trauma flight nurse used to pressure. I wasn't happy when I discovered boats don't have brakes! Lol. Then COVID happened. We tried to practice but without a good base we just repeated the same mistakes. Finally I called Captain Matias at Boats and Fun to send us some assistance. In came Captain Bill. He was a perfect fit for us. Smart, nice, friendly and most of all, knowledgeable. I cannot tell you how patient he was with us. It was so nice to have someone to teach us on our own boat. Boat rental from North Captiva Had a great experience today renting a boat from Boats and Fun in North Captiva (our first time renting a boat from them although we’ve utilized them for many other things, including fishing (Dalton is great with teenage boys), taxi service and paddle boarding). Captain Mike provided a thorough training session the day before our rental and we felt very comfortable with our understanding of the boat operations and how to best utilize the GPS routes that were pre-loaded for us. Rented a boat on Tuesday the 23rd of June as we had a previous rental fall through with someone else. Everything happens for a reason as we could not have been more pleased with our experience with Boats & Fun. Rented out of St. James on Pine Island and with Capt. Bill Flanagan. He provided us with great insight on the area and what to see where we were going. Also the times to skip Cabbage Key because of the lunch rush. It was a perfect day and the boat was great. Great Experience! We used Boats and Fun for a recent family trip for Spring Break in early March 2020, before things got crazy with Covid-19. Chartered private water taxi from Pine Island to North Captiva Island and everything went smoothly. The staff was accommodating, very nice and laid back. We had 6 adults and lots and lots of groceries for our week stay. They took care in handling the groceries and bags Having 6 adults, it made more sense cost-wise to do the private water taxi rather than normal ferry. Would Definitely do it again!

Professional I have been boating my entire life and we just sold our powerboat so we needed to rent a boat while we were on North Captiva Island. I rented boats on other trips and those companies basically just handed you the keys and let you go. Boats and Fun provided a very different experience. The level of professionalism and the attention to detail was extremely impressive. They meet with you before getting the boat and go through every detail. They had a prepared book that assisted with navigation and complimented the GPS. They had all the favorite locations preset on the GPS which made the ease of use very helpful. Their support is helpful to all levels of boaters. I definitely recommend them and would rent from them again.

Choose Boats and Fun, North Captiva! Incredible marine life and great shopping right there. LOVED 'EM. It was very safe and fun and the highlight of our trip. None of the five of us in our party could think of one thing about our boat tour that we didn't like. We called 'Boats and Fun' last minute, suddenly realizing that our incredible vacation was coming to an end and spoke with Jake, who asked when we were leaving and asked Captain Mike to squeeze us in for a two-hour tour to see North Captiva Island and additional islands north of NCI, letting them know that we especially would like to see dolphins, sharks, stingrays, manatees and if possible an alligator. Our party was 2 grandparents, 2 late-twenties children, and a five YO granddaughter. Mike was very friendly and polite, and engaged all of us at our levels and taught us about marine life, boating, the history of the region and gave us the inside scoop about where to snorkel (down at Key West, unfortunately, as a recent Red Tide has wiped out some marine life around NCI). He said that although there are sharks there, one doesn't often see them unless one is fishing for them -- NCI and its surrounding islands are on pretty shallow shoals often 1/2 foot to 5 feet deep, I think from looking at a nautical map. He invited our shy 5YO grand-daughter to drive the boat and respected her shyness without forcing her to talk. The boat was clean, comfortable and luxurious and very reasonably priced for a private tour, I thought, and Captain Mike is safe, careful and funny without being glib. He used his "secret method" to pick up several dolphin pods and invited us to move freely around the boat so that we could get right up to the sides to take pictures and video. It was SO exciting to see those agile, playful wild animals up close! I could have touched them! With the last pod on our way in, he noticed that one of the dolphins was swimming on its side and he said that it was checking us out (hopefully that is true, we were so grateful to see them). He had seen alligators earlier at another island and took us over there and we got to see an alligator and manatees! Bring your camera, binoculars, sunscreen and water -- snorkeling gear, bathing suits, water shoes and flotation devices are not needed. We are very very glad to have had that experience.

We have used Boats and Fun multiple times on our trips to North Captiva. This year, Andrew was our Captain and took us to and from the island. He is a great guy and took the time to tell us about Pine Island Sound and all the things we were seeing on the trip. He avoided the rough waters and helped with our luggage. We rented a golf cart that was in tip top shape vs the many POS golf carts on the island. Rented a fishing pole for a day and got some fishing supplies as well. Wir hatten mit Captain Robin eine super schöne private Boots Tour. Wir sahen sehr viele Delphine und Seekühe. Auf North Captiva konnten wir auch noch stand up paddeling ausprobieren. Er ging auf unsere Wünsche ein und passte die Tour an. GOOGLE TRANSLATE - We had a super nice private boat tour with Captain Robin. We saw a lot of dolphins and manatees. On North Captiva we could also try stand up paddling. He responded to our requests and adapted the tour.

Vacation boat tour We had so much fun on our tour. Robin was able to find dolphins and then got them to chase the wake of our boat. That was the one thing we were really looking forward to on our tour. He was also full of information about the island we were staying on and all of the surrounding islands. He also allowed us to get off the boat and hunt for sand dollars on one of the sandbars we came across. He was very pleasant as a captain. I would highly recommend him or his team for their boating services.

Excellent 3 hour boat tour! We went out for a 3 hour boat tour with Captain Robin. It was a perfect boat tour! We started with a lunch on Cabbage Key of Cheeseburger in Paradise fame. Then a tour of the local islands. Captain Robin gave a great running dialog of marine life and the history of the area. He new exactly were to find an alligator and Manatee as well as dolphins. Bonus, he new how to lure the dolphins into playing in the wake of the boat. Excellent time! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting North Captiva!

Spent a long weekend at Sanibel island from 5/9 - 5/13. Rented a 24’ bow rider at Boats and Fun on Saturday for a day on the water. My 31 year old son and his wife, one of my employees and his girlfriend, joined my girlfriend I for the day. The boat we rented was clean and appeared to be in good mechanical order. The captain was at the dock awaiting our arrival on time, he was also prompt upon or return at 5:00. I commend the captain for taking the time to explained the boat, functions of the GPS/navigation system on board, as well as the navigation charts provided us. We all had a great time, went to Captiva for lunch, crushed pine island sound, dropped anchor in a shallow area, so we could a have a dip in the beautiful emerald green water, also found a small uninhabited little island where we dropped anchor and swam to, and explored the island. We happened to find a small tidal pool where the water was about 100 degrees, which we took advantage of for a couple hours before heading to port! All in all we had great fun for the day and created memories for a lifetime. So if you are considering a visit to Cape Coral, Ft.Mayers, or one of the coastal islands nearby, add some boating adventure to your stay!!! We had a blast... be sure to contact Boats and Fun for a boat rental at a reasonable cost, I can assure you it will be the high point of your vacation as it was with ours. Thank you Boats and Fun for helping make a memorable vacation more memorable! I will be sure to arrange a boat from “BOATS AND FUN” the next time we vacation in the area!

Great day on the Intercoastal Captain Mike and Andrew were great and made this a super fun day for the family. I grew up as an experienced boater, but on lakes, so getting on the intercoastal was a bit intimidating. However, the day before we went through an explanation of markets and channels, where to go ... etc., and it was awesome. We hit Cabbage Key, Caya Costa and Captiva. Boat was really nice, well maintained and perfect for our group of 12. If you are staying on North Captiva, highly recommend that you get out at least one day on the water and go exploring. Guaranteed to see a lot of dolphins along the way. Thanks Boats and Fun for the highlight of our trip!

Captain Mike and Marvelousness What an awesome experience. Captain Mike took us out for a couple of hours. He was low key and entertaining, with a great armamentarium of jokes for my younger boys and great tales of adventure for the whole group. An awesome day on the water thanks to Boats and Fun!!! Just returned from a week on North Captiva. One of the highlights of the trip was renting a boat for a day from the folks at Boats and Fun. They provide excellent training on how to navigate the waterways, how to use the equipment on the boat and where to go based on our interest. We had a sand bar at Caya Costa to ourselves and we had a dolphin playing in our wake!!! Captain Micheal not only made sure we knew how to operate the boat and the equipment on it, he was also on the dock to see us off and help us when we returned. I highly recommend them to any skill level. We also used them as a water taxi service to/from North Cativa. That was also a great experience and we will use them in the future.

Spent the week at this island paradise. We rented a boat for one day to go to some of the other islands and enjoy the sound. Boat Rental We rented a boat from Boats and Fun on North Captiva Island, FL. What a great experience! It was our first time taking a boat out in the ocean. Yelp - We had a great time on North Captiva island. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They stayed over an hour past closing time to help us set up a charter fishing trip and rent 4 bikes for the week. The rental bikes were very helpful to have when getting around the island and giving our children some independence as she could explore the island and we felt safe without cars on the roads. We brought down a bike attachment we found on amazon that allowed us to ride with our 2 year old sitting in front of my seat and behind the handle bars. He absolutely loved going for a cruise and we could ride around the entire island like a family. The bike attachment was called UrRider child bike seat, portable, foldable, front mount baby kids bicycle with handrail. We accidentally left the attachment on the bike when we were leaving and they shipped it back to us!!!!!! Thanks boats and fun, you made our vacation that much better.

Awesome Excursion!!! Our tour guide/boat driver was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable, told us lots of stories and facts about all the islands, and he was positive and energetic. Definitely ask for Matis when you book your excursion. We saw so many dolphins! They were everywhere. We even got to see dolphins off the back of our boat and they were jumping through the waves our boat created. We also got to stop on the island Cabbage Key- which was beautiful. We ate lunch at the restaurant there. Definitely would recommend Boats and Fun excursions!! They are so nice, helpful, and they really do make sure there is lots of fun during the excursion!!

Good times! Captain Mike E. and the staff (especially the furry Captain) were awesome help with our boat rental. Being new to the island, and a family of 7, was quite challenging for everything we did. They were able to accommodate us, and put us at ease. Excellent! Amazing! We went on vacation with 11 people (7 kids and 4 adults) and we chartered two boats to go see dolphins, manatees, tour the island from the water, swim at a sandbar and have lunch at Cabbage Key. We were SOOOO lucky to get get Captain Mike and Captain Mike to charter our two boats. Both gentleman were kind, friendly, engaging and full of knowledge to share about North Captiva and the wildlife we encountered. It was the quickest four hours of the day and we are so glad we went! This was one of the best excursions because of the personal touch from the booking of the trip to returning back to the dock. Also need to mention that both captions were excellent with all 7 kids and made sure to make it a memorable experience for each one. We rented four fishing poles from Boats and Fun later in the week and customer service was perfect! On our last day we needed to leave North Captiva earlier than expected due to weather conditions. We booked Boats and Fun at the very last minute to charter us back to Pine Island with our luggage. Again - very accommodating and personable. Captain Mike and Captain Andrew did the charter and we are so lucky we had both of them to take care of both of our families. Thank you again for a GREAT experience and we all give you 5+ stars at Boats and Fun!

Superb Service!! Highly Reccommend I was on vacation with my family on North Captiva island. After 4 days on the island, I was running out of fun activities for the kids. I decided to visit Boats and Fun for ideas. I saw a huge inner tube for riding behind the boat. THis would be perfect for the kids! I asked if we could rent the inner tube. Unfortunately this was not an option due to the insurance. Then manager Matias had a Eureka moment. He had recently purchased a new one and offered to sell me the used one at a great price. I jumped on it. Because of Matias kindness, my family had hours of fun. You have a stellar team ! By the way... THis is where you can find the best wine on the island.

We were very impressed with the quality of the boats and staff working there! We rented a boat one day to drive from N. Captiva to some islands. The boat was almost brand new and beautiful. Mike gave us great detailed info on safety and boating in the area. We enjoyed going to Captiva and had a great day there. Fun to get off N. Captiva and explore. Another day they took us (private taxi) to Captiva and we biked form there to Sanibel and loved exploring the islands. The staff are courteous and professional and their store is well-stocked. Wonderful trip all that we wanted and more We booked a private charter with Boats and fun during our trip to North Captiva. Captain Michael was wonderful. He gave us some history on various islands during our trip and knew just were to go to check all of our boxes~ we had the best shelling ever, saw manatees and so many dolphins. One of the dolphins ran with our boat for maybe a mile and did flips, tail slaps and even swam upside down alongside his boat. The boat was clean, very comfortable he played some fun tunes and was very accommodating. I highly recommend this company as an option for fun on a boat.

Boats make everything better! We have rented a boat from B&F no less that 10 times when visiting N. Captiva over the years......this time a 21' Hurricane. The entire staff, from the booking experience, training, docking, and quality of equipment was incredible as always! Young Mike did a great job with the training and Captain Mike always greets us like family. The entire staff makes sure we are well taken care of and are always there willing to lend a helping hand for shove off and docking! Top Notch Equipment and User Friendly Rented a 21' Century Center Console from Boat's and Fun at North Captiva Island. From the reservation process with Matias thru the training with Captian Mike and a well serviced, clean boat and almost new 150 Yamaha motor, the experience at Boat's and Fun was seamlessand and about as uncomplicated as possible. After a 15 minute relaxed training session both off and on the boat with Mike you'll be handed a professionally done laminated spiral bound handbook with GPS instruction and numbers to the most popular destinations as well as charts for the entire user area, As for service over and and above, Captain Mike and first mate Jessica provided a complaint free tow at the very end of their day when a problem arose due to operator error. Note to the rentor/captain-pay close attention to the charts and GPS numbers.

The tour was a dream ??!! Absolutely reliable organization: the captain was already waiting for us with the boat, had everything prepared and received us warmly and friendly. During the ride, he told and explained everything to us and didn't get tired of answering all our questions. He knew the right places and we came into the unforgettable experience of seeing dolphins in the wild. They were surfing next to the boat on the waves, that was so indescribable nice to watch!! B&F made sure we had the best family outing We were a big group of 17 so we rented 2 boats. Matias and Robin gave us a very detailed training to make sure we had no problems while on the water, they really know their stuff! You could tell that Our well being was their #1 concern. They gave us excellent recommendations of stops we could make that were preprogrammed in their GPS- which made everything so easy for us. The boats are in Excellent condition and are super clean and well maintained. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend them to anyone (big or small groups).

Family day We had a great experience renting a boat from boats and fun, it was my husband’s first time driving a boat, Robin and and Matias made it very easy, from the time of booking the online classes and the training. They suggested us to go to Cayo Costa and Manatee hall. We did it, we took the tram went to a paradise beach and after it we went to Manatee hall we could see several manatees. Yelp - We had a great experience renting a boat from boats and fun, it was my husband's first time driving a boat, Robin and and Matias made it very easy, from the time of booking the online classes and the training. They suggested us to go to Cayo Costa and Manatee hall. We did it, we took the tram went to a paradise beach and after it we went to Manatee hall we could see several manatees. It was a great experience and we will tray again, we had a wonderfully time easy smooth and every body from grandchildren to grandparents had a blast. Thank you Matias and Robin!!

Ask for Capatin Michael Keen !!! This was the best day of our trip! We had Captain Michael Keen and he was amazing, lots of fun, very knowledgeable, highly suggest requesting for him! Boat Tour was amazing, checked out the different islands, went to cabbage key for lunch and cruised around after. Michael had the dolphins playing with the waves of the boat. Great Captain, and great tour!

Captain Mike was Awesome We had Captain Mike take a party of 6 from North Captiva Island to Cabbage Key for lunch, then to cruise around some of the islands. He was great teaching us about all the islands on the way, giving us some of the local scuttlebutt, and really made a great effort so show us some wildlife. He got a pod of dolphins to ride our wake and they were jumping out of the water right next to the boat, it was amazing. We were debating renting a boat ourselves vs. the charter, and we were so glad we did the charter! Thanks Captain Mike !!!

Perfect day for a getaway Took the tour of the area with Cabbage Key as a stop. The rest was seeing and enjoying the wildlife and finding the dolphins that loved to follow the wake. Capt Mike was great as a guide and we enjoyed the history of the area as well.

Boat Rental Pro's! The people at Boats and Fun hooked me up on North Captiva with a day long boat rental. While the one I reserved couldn't be there, they were able to find another of equal size. The team oriented me on safe navigation and operation. My family enjoyed going out on the water, and choosing cool destinations. We managed to go to Cayo Costa (state park), Cabbage Key, and Captiva - all within a day. The staff were also helpful in finding our family a few pounds of fresh fish and shrimp! Our vacation was a blast, in part thanks to Boats and Fun.

Boats and Fun-AWESOME!!!! We traveled to North Captiva for spring break and used Boats and Fun for both jet skis and for a 3 hour boat tour. My husband and daughters had a great time on the jet skis!!!! Well worth the $. The boat tour was awesome and so was our captain, Robin! He really made the trip! We say dolphins & manatee. He took us out on the water where it was pretty shallow...Robin had masks for us & the whole family got out and looked for sand dollars! We found so many and even saw a crab! It Really is Fun! My family used Boats and Fun for a private water taxi to/from North Captiva in March. Once on the island, we rented numerous water toys from them (kayaks, waverunners, boat tour) and in every case, the guys were friendly, efficient and totally service oriented. I was literally at their shop every day during my week stay and got nothing but great support and a willingness to adapt to my needs. For example, I couldn't carry the kayak I had rented for the week to/from my house to the beach so I asked the guys to just keep it for me on their harbor racks. When I wanted to use it, I just came down to their shop and they helped me drop it in the water. That's not on the service menu but they were willing to help me out. Highlight of the trip was probably the 2 hour tour from Captain Michael. He was informative, fun and really worked to find manatees and dolphins for us. Sure enough, we had a dolphin spinning in and out of the water in our boat's wake on the tour. Bottom line - there's a reason these guys have stellar reviews - they are stellar!

They saved the day! We had a bit of an issue at the airport and missed our ferry.. 13 of us on the busiest saturday of the year stuck at the dock. My wife called over to Boats and Fun and Andrew did everything in his power to get us over to the island,.. could not have been a better outcome.. they got us taken care of and even had nice rides over! Great learning experience from Captain Michael On March 18, we rented a 200 hp open bow boat from Boats and Fun. Although I took the helm with a high degree of confidence, it quickly waned when I discovered it was larger than typical boats I had operated. Couple that with some wind and relatively tight areas going out of the Marina, and I was a Hazard waiting to happen! After seeing a couple of questionable maneuvers Captain Michael Keel came flying (jogging down the dock) to the rescue! He boarded ship and volunteered to help pilot us out of the harbor and make me comfortable with the boat (yes I had gone through a safety and operating training brief the day before as well). When he was comfortable that we were as well, he off-boarded in shallow water and sent us on or way! Kudos for the mile + walk he was faced with to get back to base. All in in all it was a great day! Chartered fishing trip Captain Dalton This was the highlight of our stay on Captiva island. He put us on fish and nonstop action for the whole afternoon trip. Wir haben uns zu fünft ein Boot gemietet. Von uns ist vorher noch nie jemand Boot gefahren,aber nach einer sehr ausführlichen Einweisung in deutsch durften wir in See stechen. Captain Robin hat uns vorher alles wirklich gut erklärt und uns tolle Tipps für die Tour gegeben. Es ist herrlich die Inseln abzuklappern,die Tierwelt zu beobachten und einfach auch mal an einer Insel anzulegen. Einfach ein tolles Erlebnis! We rented a boat for five. No one of us has ever driven a boat before, but after a very detailed instruction in German we were allowed to set sail. Captain Robin explained everything really well and gave us some great tips for the tour. It is wonderful to rattle off the islands, to watch the wildlife and simply to put on an island. Just a great experience!

North Captiva location was great We rented a golf cart for our vacation from the North Captiva location and they were fantastic. Very friendly and personable staff, helped us learn about the island and things to do and see. The golf cart was clean and in good condition. I’d recommend them for any rentals needs. Captain Michael Keel!!!!! Went to the island for the day (never been here before), checked out Boats N Fun. Captain Michael -He was wonderful!! Provided great customer service and info about the island/ beach. Showed us around and rented jet ski's, and he went through the proper safety tips, and water rules prior to getting on them. Such a fun place and makes it a better experience when staff is so helpful! Definitely would come back! :)

Amazing day on the water with Captain Michael. Spent my birthday on North Captiva Island with my girlfriend and had an AMAZING time. We rented the Jet Ski's with captain Michael, he was friendly and helpful. He went over everything we needed to know about how to operate them and how to navigate the island safely. Private Charter to/from North Captiva We used Boats and Fun for a private charter to and from North Captiva for our vacation (January 2019). Michael was awesome. We went over during rough seas and he was able to guide the boat to avoid the chop and spray. On the way back he told us about different locations to check out on the mainland. He was a fantastic captain and I can't recommend them enough!

Trip to Cabbage Key We booked a trip to Cabbage Key for lunch including some sight seeing for about 3.5 hours. We had captain Matias and he was outstanding. The trip was amazing. We had 5 people and they all loved it. We seen more dolphins than we have ever seen in our many previous charters. Parking and getting to the marine were very smooth and easy also. Don't hesitate to call these guys. We will certainly use them again.

Wonderful experience We rented a boat for multiple days while visiting North Captiva. The ability to complete an online preview course before arriving was really helpful, and saved much time. Captain Matias and Captain Robin were wonderful to work with once we arrived, flexible and patient and provided additional practice docking when we expressed confidence issues. Michael was very friendly and (VERY) quick to help us each day as well when we brought the boat into dock. We had a wonderful time and appreciate everyone at Boats and Fun very much. Half day rental PLUS awesome training Had the best experience renting a very nice new speed boat with a great awning that gave fantastic shade. 9 women with a picnic basket. The training also talked about options of place to go and how to get there. We went to an awesome manatee hang out spot that was secluded. We saw a mom and a baby and at least one other manatee that hung around for a few hours while we relaxed on the boat. Next we hit cabbage cat to check it out. Had a cool lunch spot we hope to visit later on our trip. Mike was a great instructor, and so helpful with the most difficult parts of leaving and entering the boat slip. We all had a blast and felt well prepared with the training coupled to the GPS. Thank you Mike!

Amazing day with Captain Mike! We chartered a private boating tour on Friday November 23rd and went with Captain Mike. We had such an amazing experience, had dolphins in our boats wake (twice!), saw Manatee, ate lunch on a sand bar, jumped off the boat and snorkeled off of Cayo Costa and in general had a fantastic experience. Captain Mike was super flexible, took us to do what we wanted, gave us a ton of historical information about the various islands and homes and even helped us extract a burr from my daughters foot. I cannot say enough good things about Boats and Fun and Captain Mike. We had originally booked 3 hours and they even let us extend an extra hour to get in everything we wanted.

Inexperienced Boaters This is our second trip to North Captiva. We decided to rent a boat for the day. My husband and I have very little boating experience which caused us a certaint level of angst. The day before our rental we were able to meet with Captain Mike for an hour to review boat procedures like starting the boat and docking, as well as navigation and places to visit during our day. Captain Mike did a great job in providing us with explanation in laymen terms and helped reassure us that the trip would go well, we would have fun, but if we needed him during our journey we could simply call his cell phone. His level of instruction was essential in helping us understand the complexity of the waters, tides, the shallows, etc. Our journey took us to Cayo Costa to see manatees and alligators, to Cabbage Key for drinks and stone claw crabs (with successful docking at a very busy time), to Boca Grand for a quick ride-by before heading south to Captiva where we anchored off shore for a quick bite on the boat. Then on to Sanibel for another ride-by before gasing up at Jensens on Captiva island. Docking was so-so but since we were going slow as instructed we were able to get the boat docked. Lots of helpful people at the docks removed our anxiety. That was our final stop before returning to our port. Captain Mike and his 1st Mate were there to great us. Truly an exceptional day of fun in the sun. Worth every Penney. Definitely will plan to do this again. If you pay careful attention to Captain Mike’s instruction you will have an amazing day.

A consistently good rental experience Our family has been coming to North Captiva for many years. Early on, boat rentals were either hard to find or sketchy, depending on what company offered the service. Since their establishment on North Cap, Boats and Fun has been an ideal company to work with – consistent personnel, availability and pricing. My last rental was as smooth as always – they let me go through the paperwork and boat overview the afternoon before so we could get on the water the next morning without delay. Boats are clean, easy to use, and guidance systems are a big help (pay attention in Safety Harbor). Hopping over to the other islands for shelling or lunch is simple – I recommend a full day rental since a decent amount of time will be spent running down to regular Captiva to get fuel before your return. Would I like to bring my own boat? Sure! But that also means I’d be renting an expensive boat slip on the island, washing the boat down when I tie up in the afternoon, checking, cleaning, etc. With Boats and Fun, I just step off the rental and hop in the swimming pool to cool off with a drink in my hand – it should be that easy because I am on vacation! Can you tell I’ll be back? :)

North Captiva On the first day Captain Mike took us to a great spot for shelling, then to Cabbage Key. Bad weather forced our quick return back to North Captiva so the next day, Captain Robin took us to finish our adventure at Cabbage Key and then to lower Captiva. Both captains were phenomenal and helped make the voyage as fun as possible while remaining nothing but professional.

A great day out for novices We rented a 22" boat (and were upgraded to a 24") for a day out having had limited nautical experience. The hour spent with Mike the evening before we went out really put us at ease - two families with seven of us in total. We had a really good day with trips to the manatee hole on Cayo Costa, an excellent lunch at the Cabbage Key restaurant followed by a trip down to Captiva to refuel accompanied by a pod of dolphins. We managed to pick up supplies in a store on Captiva whilst refuelling which was a bonus. Having travelled to North Captiva from the UK we were really pleased to have this experience, and would highly recommend the friendly and highly knowledgeable team to all visitors.

Very friendly staff - easy process We rented a boat for five days and had a great experience. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a training period that isn't too long yet informative. There was always someone there at the end of our trip to help us dock the boat which is really the hardest part for beginners. I recommend!

These guys were great! I reserved our boat with consulting from the young man who answered the phone. They were great and the boat was well equipped and maintained. My husband and son took a class to learn how to use the boat and refresh on intercostal mariner rules. We had a GREAT time and visited many places we would have not been able to see had we not had a boat. We saw TONS of dolphins and manatees! We also rented fishing poles from them. They were in good condition. Too bad we didn't catch anything other than catfish, tho!

Fantastic deal! We booked a boat for 4 days in advance from the UK but on arrival Matias managed to get us a deal for 5 days! From the start the service was first class and we were given a full overview of the boat and Robin gave detailed instructions on how to use the boat. We had sailed before but it was good to get a refresher. One trip you must do is take a sail to Matlacha and visit Bert's bar, The delivery and pick up of the boat was prompt and the guys were so helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to use this company again. They are excellent! Thanks again guys as it added great fishing experiences to our holiday and nice sails around Sanibel!

These guys are good! We did a one day rental of a 22' boat on Pine Island Sound this past week. I manage a marina, I own a 26' Sea Ray, I handle all kinds of boats in Northern Michigan and my buddy is as good a sailor as Northern Michigan has to offer, but we were both a little nervous about the Pine Island Sound after our Ferry trip to North Captiva. Geez, this place is crazy shallow! Well, we were asked to come for our 45 minute boat training and got Captain Robin to go through their program. A. I'd hire this guy in an instant if he would leave FLA B. This was the most thorough, friendly, and informative session I've ever spent with someone. He caught that we had a lot of experience and were really just nervous about not knowing the water. He spent the time that was necessary to hit what he had to hit and then spent more time really helping us understand what would make this a special day and really made us feel comfortable knowing what steps they had taken to make this easy for anyone! Let me tell you, this water is really crazy but these guys have it dialed in and they have the Garmin GPS units programmed for about any trip you might take. Combine that with their fantastic charts that they have laminated and put together and you have a great combination. We had a freaking ball, saw everything Robin told us to do including a great Manatee hole on Cayo Costa, awesome lunch at Cabbage Key at 1:45 after the Ferry had left just like he told us it would, and then great time on S.Captiva before heading home to N. Captiva. Capt. Mike helped us as we were going out and again checking us in and he did a great job making us laugh and again to feel comfortable. Capt. Mattias occasionally dropped in a thought or two as we were going through the process. All in all, these guys can take the scary out of the shallow water and make you comfortable and allow you to have one of the best days you can have on the water! I know we did!!!

Easy and on time transport to North Captiva We organized a private round trip transfer to North Captiva with our 2 toddlers and ALLLLLLLL the junk that comes with traveling with little ones. Boats n Fun made it easy and enjoyable to get over to the island. They were on-time both directions and had kid sized life vests. Captain was even patient while we "negotiated" with the toddlers to put them on. Very easy and will use them again on our next visit.

Amazing Dolphins Adventure with Captain Mike After staying on North Captiva for a week in August, we didn't think our trip could get any better and then on the second to last day we went out with Captain Mike on a Dolphin watching trip! We were blown away by the wild dolphins playing in wake. Mike was so knowledgeable and brilliant with our kids. Thank you for a brilliant experience.

We loved these giys We are driving home now from a wonderful week on the island. Both of our water taxi rides were fun and informative. On the way to the island, our captain gave us several great insights and also stopped to assist a family whose boat had become stuck on a sandbar. On our way back from the island, our caption took the time to interact with some dolphins, even enticing one to follow behind us for a bit and leap out of the water. I did not expect our taxi rides to enhance our trip, but they truly did.

Boat Rental (Captain Mike and Captain Robin) We rented a boat for the day from Boats and Fun. What a great experience - if I could give them 6 stars, I would. Before we left, Captain Mike sat down with me to review the boating area around N. Captivia and give us some good things to do. He also showed me around the boat a bit. I'm a very experienced boater and he was very helpful as the waters in the area tend to be quite shallow. His suggestions were spot on. We wanted to see if we could find some manatee and he sent us to a hidden cove. We were the only boat there with a dozen or so manatee. After visiting with the manatee, we headed south and ran into Captain Robin who was out with a group on jet skis looking at a pod of dolphins. He had me adjust the trim on the boat a bit and when I started back up the dolphins started swimming and playing in out wake and the folks on the jet skis were tagging along for the show. We ended our day heading down to Captivia where we walked around and had lunch before heading back to North Captivia. Six stars for these guys.

Christmas vacation After a long day of travel from California we had the pleasure of taking a water taxi over to North Captiva Island. Oh my gosh!!!! What an incredible ride it was!!! I’m not sure who was more excited, us or our driver!! He offered to stop & take pictures of our family with the perfect sunset in the background! Saw some dolphins & made sure we got to see them in action! He also was full of helpful information! BOATS & FUN you guys are awesome!!!!! Perfect start to what I’m sure will be a perfect week! Perfect Boat Rental Our family rented a 23' Hurricane Deck Boat on Xmas Eve.. Starting with the reservation process, everything was perfect. All was coordinated by Capt. Matias, who was very efficient, obviously experienced, & very personable. The boat provided was a 23' Hurricane Deck Boat with a 200HP outboard. The boat was in excellent condition, especially for a rental, & equipped with a user friendly Garmin GPS. The GPS was loaded with several area wayward tracks, so no input was necessary. You are provided with the most complete chart and information book I've ever seen. So good that I think they should make the book's available for sale. We met Capt. Matias with the boat at the Cape Coral Yacht Club dock area. Plenty of nearby parking and Bar/Restaurant called The Boathouse on site. No need to travel for food & cocktails after a day of boating, & great place to catch the sunset. All this made for one of the best boat rentals ever, & best Xmas Eve Day's ever. Can't wait to do it again.

Great People and Service My wife and I had the pleasure of staying on North Captiva Island for roughly a week from the end of October through the first week of November. Other than one really rainy day, the trip was fantastic! The team at Boats and Fun made the trip much more enjoyable. We arrived late on a Thursday night and booked a Boats and Fun water taxi from Pine Island to NCI. Captain Robin was extremely helpful getting us settled on the island after we arrived - especially because it was dark and getting to our vacation rental required knowing the paths. We had reserved a boat for 2 days but the weather didn't completely cooperate. Boats and Fun completely helped us out and moved the reservations without any issues. When we finally got out on the water, Captain Mike gave us very helpful tips on where to go, what to see, and how to best plan our time on the water. We had the opportunity to see dolphins, manatees, shelling on Costa Cayo, lunch on Cabbage Key - and just had a wonderful time overall. A special call out to Captain Mathias who was the key to the entire adventure. We made all our reservations with him via email and phone, rented fishing gear and bait, borrowed bikes for a trip into the State Park on NCI, and he captained our water taxi back to Pine Island for the trip home.

Boats AND Fun! We rent a open bow boat every year in the spring from Boats and Fun on North Captiva. If you are familiar with North Captiva it is surprise to find such a well run and well stocked business on the island. Amazing experience!! We spent a week in North Captiva in July 2017 and we rented a boat, jet ski, kayak and fishing rods from Boats and Fun. We can't say anything but great things. The guys are great and helpful. The boat and jet ski training is very informative and thorough. We had so much fun on our day on the boat but we wish we rented for 2 days instead of one. 7 hours were not enough too see everything we planned. We were lucky and did not have any storm that day but they prepared us for every situation. Overall, we had great experience and we will definitely rent from them again.

Boat full of little people that had a blast! I recently rented a 24' Hurricane deck boat from Boats and Fun in N. Captiva and had a wonderful time! Boat was in great shape and Captain Mike did a great job with a quick training to make us aware of the specific waters and sand bars. We go there every year and will be renting a boat with them again. I highly recommend you paying attention to your class because the waters are quite shallow at low and even high tide if you don't pay attention to what you are doing.

North Captiva Fun We used Boats and Fun for a water taxi ride from North Captiva to Sanibel Island. It was a fun boat ride there and back with Captain Matias. He was great talking with the kids and telling them about the boat and waterways. We were lucky enough to be tailed by three dolphins on the return trip, almost like we signed up for the dolphin watch tour! Next time we go, we would definitely use them for additional services. Great, friendly staff!

North Captiva Boats and Fun at North Captiva were prepared for just about any question. They suggested that our group of seven rent a larger boat than the minimum size necessary, which turned out to be the best recommendation ever. Matias' boating instruction for complete novices was thorough and allowed us to have a fantastic time out on the sound on our first trip. Only caveat: pay close attention to the instructions given and follow them to a tee, because the rapid changes in depth near the shore could easily trip you up fast.

Fantastic week This was the best well of boating in a new area tan I thought was possible. Captains Mike and Adam couldn't have been more knowledgeable and informative. Absolutely Awesome! Our family has been to Captiva several times, but this was our first time at North Captiva. We (six of us) decided to try something new and called them one morning and went out on a boat that afternoon. Captain Matias was great! He was so fun and knowledgeable. He even downloaded Spotify and let us choose the music! We had an unbelievable experience on a sandbar in the gulf; we found 16 sand dollars and Matias even helped my sister (kind of) learn how to dive. It was a day we will never forget! Will definitely be calling them when we come back to North Captiva.

Captain Mike ROCKS!! My family of 5 and I booked our private boat tour the day of, only an hour ahead to be exact and we showed up with everything ready to go, just had to sign a wavier for everyone and then it was off to the water! Captain Mike took me and my 2 younger brothers tubing for about an hour and a half before taking us to Cabbage Key for lunch. He was so knowledgeable and laid-back, making the entire trip perfect. When you book a private boat tour it's pretty much whatever you want to do, unless you need recommendations which they more than happily provide.

A Treasured Experience My husband and I came to visit North Captiva for his 30th birthday. Thanks to Boats and Fun, it was a beyond wonderful experience!. We rented dune bikes as well as a golf cart to cycle around the island and to the all of the different beaches. We used their water taxi to get to the island initially as well as back to the mainland when our stay was completed. Adam and Captain Matias took us on an incredible jet ski tour of the island to look for shells, wildlife, and just to generally have fun!! My highlight was seeing all the manatees but my husband's was racing across the ocean with the guys. Matias is very knowledgeable about his business as well as the local areas both on and off the island. Boats and Fun has many activities to choose from and you can definitely find the best fit for your own adventure just like we did!.

North Captiva Boats and Fun My husband and I only had a few days on the island for this spur of the moment trip. We booked last minute and Matias was good enough to come in on his day off to take us on this wonderful trip. You can tell he absolutely loves his job and loves his home in his enthusiasm during our tour. We left from North Captiva Island Club marina in their clean and comfortable boat and enjoyed watching the dolphins play in our wake while Matias told us about North Captiva and the surrounding islands. Our first stop was Cabbage Key for a "cheeseburger in paradise". Matias waited for us while we enjoyed lunch at this iconic stop. After lunch we toured around Cayo Costa island and learned all about the ever changing coastline and history. Matias found a beautiful sand bar where the two of us snorkeled and collected a few shells before heading back to the marina. We learned so much about the local history and wildlife from Matias which helped make our decision to purchase a home on North Captiva an easy one.

Peg's Big Jet Ski and Boat Adventure 4 of us rented jet skis and we had a wicked good time! We buzzed around playing in the waves and then our guide Matias brought us to a cove where we were able to get close to Manatees, without disturbing them of course. We really enjoyed learning all about the pirate history of the islands, arrrrr. The next day we rented a boat and went to Cabbage Key to have lunch at the famous "cheeseburger in paradise" restaurant. Captain Mike patiently went over everything to make sure we had all the knowledge about the boat and navigating the waterways so we would be totally safe. The staff is genuinely nice and they made us feel truly welcome on the island, not like a bunch of tourists. Boats and Fun is the prefect name for this place, check it out, you won't regret it!

This place is so well run with the nicest crew around! We have traveled to North Captiva Island in Florida for three years running. We have used Boats and Fun each trip, once for a 3 hour tour with the totally awesome Captain Mike, we have used their private boat taxi (extremely reliable) and have booked fishing tours as well (so fun and the captain was knowledgable about where to find fish). They are always accommodating (but they do get booked at Spring Break - plan ahead!!), so pleasant to work with, deal with and the shop always has a good amount of bait, rods, gear as well. Easy to rate them 5 stars.

The reservation process was so easy plus, on our arrival, Captain Andy coordinated our water taxi with our airport taxi so we were not stuck waiting at the dock. Capt Andy also coordinated with Duncan and Laurie at Tortuganci Properties so we were met at the dock when we arrived on the island. While we were on North Captiva we booked a tour to Cabbage Key and Captain Matias tailored it to what we wanted to see. It was a wonderful trip. We saw dolphins, manatees, a beautiful sunset and had a delicious dinner at Cabbage Key and Captain Matias made it very relaxed and fun! Our return water taxi to Pine Island was just as smooth. Boat Tour- including shelling Our family ranged from a 13 year old, two 20 year olds, and a 82 year old grandma and we all had a great time! The trip was entirely tailored to what we wanted to do. We got up close to wild bottlenose dolphins and went into a secluded lagoon to find the protected manatees. The afternoon also included a stop at a sandbar where found about 15 sand dollars and other cool shells. Our tour guide Matias was very knowledgeable of the area which made the tour exciting. Definitely recommend!

The Best Day of the Vacation Met Captain Andy and he was immediately welcoming and friendly. He asked us what we wanted to see and where we chose to go. He found a small cove where we saw many manatees and they were so active. We were able to take some amazing photos. There were also able to watch 2 manatees mating. Certainly don't get to see his everyday. Then off the Cabbage Key restaurant for lunch. Super lovely and Captain Andy got us there right before the huge lunch crowd arrived. His history of the island and the find of a sweet dolphin swimming in our wake was lovely. He was having a great time swimming in our wake and leaping out of the water 5 different times. Such a great morning with Captain Andy. A super guy with great knowledge of the area and water. Us Baltimore girls thank him for providing us with a spectacular day on the water

This is how all boat rentals should go!! This place Rocks! The entire crew was happy, helpful, enthusiastic and above all, knowledgeable. They worked together like a well-oiled machine. From booking, through safety videos and briefings, to actual boat orientation and checkout, no stone was left unturned. The equipment was also top notch and the inclusion of a GPS chart plotter really left a great impression. For anyone not familiar with these waters, especially the home harbor on North Captiva, routes are shallow and convoluted...do NOT rent a boat without a chart plotter!! This is truly as good as it gets. They will make even the novice comfortable in no time. The local waters have lots to see and plenty to do. Make time for the Cabbage Key Restaurant & Inn for some excellent seafood and an incredible staff. Don't even think of the half-day rental...not nearly enough time to see and do everything, and the full-day rate is just pennies more. Thanks again, guys!

Water Taxi We used Captain Matais to taxi us back to the Mainland at 5am to catch an early morning flight. He arrived right on time, he was pleasant and knowledgeable about the area and even went above and beyond to get us to our vehicle once we hit dry land. Great ferry ride to and from North Captiva! There's nothing like have a great travel experience to start (and end!) your vacation on great terms! This is exactly what we got with Boats and Fun. We were given perfect directions to arrive at the marina, our captain helped us load everything and was very timely and welcoming. The boat was in perfect condition and comfortable, and the trip was very reasonably priced when comparing it to standard cost for round-trip ferry costs. They accommodated all our items and pet friendly! We had an immaculate experience both to and from the island. I would definitely recommend them and look forward to visiting again!

Boat Rental Boats and Fun I rented a center console fishing boat from Boats and Fun for a week. Every aspect of this experience was excellent. I easily made a reservation by phone. I received E-Mail communications and reservation confirmations. We arrived on Christmas Day on Captiva Island. Although the original reservation had the boat arriving at my dock the next day, Captain Andy called me on Christmas and offered to bring the boat a day early so we could get out on it early the next morning. Santiago delivered the boat to my dock on Christmas Day and took me through extensive instruction on the basics of the boat, docking procedures, and how to navigate the waters of Pine Island Sound. Captain Robin arrived a short time later and they tied the boat up to the dock and showed me how to secure the boat to pilings. I had no experience with docking a boat with pilings. They were patient and eager to answer any question I had. The boat was great, and we had a awesome time with it all week. At the end of the week, I received text messages and phone calls about the pick up procedure. Once again, they made it easy and manageable. The manager of my condominium complex met Santiago and Robin during the pick up. He told me that he liked the guys so much he was going to recommend them to future guests. This was an all around excellent experience!

Fantastic! We came to North Captiva for a week between Christmas and New Years...2 families including 5 kids. I am not an experienced boater but they were AMAZING at Boats and Fun. They gave me a quick tutorial and all the material I needed to boat around the islands and have a great time. We went exploring to other islands, fishing, picnics and swimming. They had great restaurant recommendations at Captiva, Boca Grande, Cabage Key and more. Having the boat from Boats and Fun changed the whole trip and made it incredible. They were always available and amazingly helpful! I couldn't recommend them highly enough. If you are coming to North Captiva, renting from them is an absolute must! Thank you Boats and Fun!!

Yelp - I rented a center console boat from this company in December 2016. First of all, I made the reservation a month before my trip and about a week before the day I was going to rent the boat I received a phone call from an employee of the company advising me that the weather was going to be bad on that day and he gave me the option of moving my rental to another day. This was awesome. I took him up on the offer and moved the rental and it was an amazing day to be on the water. The boat was in great condition and had a lot of power. Great boat rental experience We recently rented a Glacier Bay 23' boat for 7 days from Boats and Fun. From start to finish everything was handled very professionally. Captain Matias delivered our boat to the Yacht Club in Cape Coral and took us through an easy to follow but detailed induction. It was clear to us that it was more important to him that we were comfortable with the boat than it was to get away as quickly as possible even though it was a Sunday morning. We thoroughly enjoyed having the boat and would absolutely recommend Capt'n Matias and Boats and Fun to anyone thinking about hiring a boat in the area.

Ahoy Matey! About 3 weeks ago, we vacationed on North Captiva with 2 other families. One of our friends rented a boat from Boats and Fun (North Captiva office) for a few days. The island was a perfect place to relax, but having access to a boat enhanced the experience tremendously. We showed up for the informational meeting and training with Captain Andy, who explained all of the details clearly and completely. He went over all aspects of the boat, mariner guidelines, and places to see. (Having some fairly experienced boaters helped, but I am confident those with little boating knowledge would feel comfortable getting out onto the waters with the crew at Boats and Fun.) The next few days were spent taking short and long trips to Captiva, Cabbage Key, and Cayo Costa. It was such a blast "driving" down the Intercoastal Highway!! Each time we returned, Captain Mike was waiting to help guide us in. He was a such a personable and informative captain, and we can't say enough about his professionalism and passion for the job. Boat tour & tubing with Captain Robin Wow! Great family experience. Boat tour with Captain Robin and Boats and Fun out of North Captiva Island was fabulous. Wildlife-he found it all. Birds diving and feeding on fish, pelicans, alligators, manatees galore. Dolphin swimming and playing in the wake was so cool-the kids and adults loved it. Some of us even saw a wild pig! He also took the kids tubing - level 3 for all! They really tailored the experience and timing to meet our needs. Highly recommend.

North Captiva Island Adventure You can only get to and from North Captiva Island via Ferry, it's quite remote and we wanted to visit some other islands. Enter Boats & Fun...Rented a 20 FT boat for the day, the service was friendly and well instructed, got the GPS and keys, picked up the boat the next day and we were off. Boat and GPS worked great, was very thankful for the verbal driving lesson and watch outs, they all came in handy. Had a great day on the water with my friends. Would definitely do it again...Greg

We just returned to North Captiva and rented a 12 person boat for the day and got the same great service from Boats and Fun that we did last time we were here. Since they started, we have rented a boat from them on North Captiva and the experience has always been great! They are super helpful, flexible and the boats are in great shape! Boating with Babies We rented a boat for the day during the week between Christmas and New Years. The boat was clean and had everything we needed for a day's trip with 2 families and 2 19 month olds. They were great at providing training on how to use the equipment which helped the Dad's feel at ease as the captains with such precious cargo on board. They also recommended places for us to go that were age appropriate for the family which helped us have a wonderful time. It was one of the best days we had on vacation! I recommend going to get the training and paperwork done before your boat day to save you time on the day of.

Great Captiva Vacation Rented a boat from the North Captiva location for 11 days for our family vacation on Captiva. Captain Mike noticed a problem with the steering hydraulics when bringing the boat to us. He headed back to the shop to make sure it was repaired, and the boat was delivered to us later in the day. While we were disappointed with the delay in getting the boat, I appreciated the fact that they made sure it was fixed. Matias adjusted our contract accordingly, and the boat performed great throughout our trip with no problems. The boat was a big part of our family vacation cruising the islands, and fishing every day. Very enjoyable trip, and the North Captiva Crew was great. Thanks guys! Can't wait to go back!

Made an alreay fantastic getaway even better! My wife and I stayed on Captiva Island for a week. We explored the island for the first few days and then rented a boat to get out & around to the surrounding islands. Captain Mike was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Family Boat Trip We rented a boat for the day to go to Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key and Captiva. We had a blast!! The boat was great. We had two families with a total of 10 people on the boat. It was a little tight but everyone still had a seat. I would totally recommend doing this! The water is absolutely beautiful. We saw dolphins and manatees. Lunch at Cabbage Key was awesome! Next time we will get Captain Mike to go with us! He is great and a lot of fun!

Look No Further - You have found the best. Can't say enough about our experience with Boats and Fun. This was our second trip to North Captiva Island. The first trip we rented a boat from a less known company and it was a disaster in comparison. The price was right however the experience and service was lacking. This time we booked Boats & Fun based on prior reviews and BAM !!!! we hit a home run. I can't not say enough about our experience. The first day they spent and hour (yes an hour!!) walking us through the boat operation, using the GPS, understanding the area and how to navigate around to the best locations. Gave us recommendations for sites to see Manatees, good locations to catch fish, and fun places to go for sights and restaurants, the best gas prices and on and on. The whole process felt like 20 minutes. Can't say enough about the on-boarding process. No other company out there does the same. Next was the crew at North Captiva. It was like they had GPS on us. Every time we pulled in to dock or were leaving, they were right there. Helping us in an out of the narrow passages, making sure we docked well and gave many instructions on how to improve docking. WOW - no other company does this. They were always friendly, helpful, patient and willing to answer questions, provide direction and always with a smile. The staff helped us load the boat and then unload the boat (even in the rain). I can go on and on. --- bottom line -- stop looking and book a boat now as this team provides a Ritz Carlton Experience!

ALWAYS A BLAST... Boats and Fun for new drivers are very thorough, patient in answering questions, and even willing to dock the boat if you're in a real pinch. This was our second year renting one of their boats and it is always a great time. Boats and fun made sure we knew the hot spots of fun to try while out boating such as the Manatee Cove and Cayo Casta Island. Do at least a DAY RENTAL!!! You will want it!!! Boats and Fun care about your safety as well. Our first chosen day to rent, we cancelled due to a forecast of bad weather. They were very kind in rescheduling at no extra charge. This is a plus!!! I hope they continue to do this. Our day of fun on the water ended with a thunderstorm looming overhead with wind gusts of 35 mph. Boats and Fun had already called ahead to where we would gas up and told them to tell us to dock at Jensen's and wait the storm out even if it went past or return time. When we did make it back, the captain docked our boat with a smile and said he was thankful we made it in safe. Safety first! Don't forget to bring your receipt to show how much gas though. Very important! We will book with them again when we make another trip to North Captiva Island. I should say that the boats are very clean and ready to go. They looked used which is good to know that many vacationers trust the quality of service! Thank you for being a part of our vacation once again!

Very patient and friendly Our family hired a boat captain (Matius) to take us in the gulf for tubing fun and snorkeling. Matius was very patient and kind to the kids as they explored the sandbar to find sand dollars and while riding the tube. He always made sure we operated safely in regards to the weather and water. We enjoyed it so much we went out twice during our island visit! We also rented a boat during our vacation and Andrew explained everything patiently. Overall our experience with Boats and Fun was wonderful!

Best place to rent a Boat/Jet ski We rented a 24' deck boat for a day, and two jet skis another day while on North Captiva Island in early June. One of the best places from which we have ever rented. Andrew went above and beyond, both during training and set up, as well as helping us with some other "Island issues" that weren't even his problem. He even stopped at a Walgreens on PIne Island and obtained some items my wife needed but couldn't get, and which we had no means of getting on N. Captiva due to lack of local transportation. Re the boat process - Captain Mike and Andrew were extremely safety conscious, without diminishing the "fun aspect," and that was exactly what we were looking for, and it made the experience a great one. This was the second year we've rented from Captain Mike and Boats & Fun, and they far exceeded the service we've had at any other location.

Manatees, dolphins and Captain Mike on North Captiva! We discovered Boats and Fun on North Captiva when we stayed on the island in March. We had heard that there were manatees in the area and we wanted to head out on a boat for the day to explore where we were and what was around us. We met Matias who was in the shop and he was an absolute treasure! He got us all set up and we met Captain Mike who navigated us through all the local sights to see. The highlight of the day was a wee little cove that Mike found…still as glass and there were 8-10 manatees who were there just enjoying their day. It was surreal to be just floating along with them, watching their movements and listening to them as they came up for air. Mike had great stories to tell and he was so respectful of the manatees and their habitat…unlike a couple of other tour boats that did arrive and were not respectful to us or the animals which was very disturbing. If you want an incredible experience look them up, they do custom boat tours like we did, you can rent boats and other equipment and they will help to make your trip! They certainly did for our family and we will be back next March for another adventure!

Entire family's favorite day We rented a boat midway though our visit to North Captiva. We went over to Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key and Captiva. The boat had great maps, Garmin GPS and was well equipped. Perfect day and tons of fun. Will definitely do it again when we visit North Captiva!!!

Private ferry from Pine Island to North Captiva All the ferry boats were booked to get over to the island. So in advance, we rented a private boat through Boats and Fun to get us to North Captiva Island. They were prompt with pick up. The captain was friendly and happy to tell us about the land we were seeing and about the island. The crew from North Captiva Island Resort were to take our luggage to our house, but they were very backed up. The guys at Boats and Fun did not miss a beat. They got another large golf cart, loaded all of our luggage and groceries and took us to our house. They helped up find the house and get unloaded. They were so friendly and kind. We were most gracious!

Fantastic Jet Ski Adventure My sons and I were taken out on a jet ski tour with Matias and had a wonderful time. Good orientation and safety guidelines before we went out. While we were out we saw dolphins swimming besides us, stopped at a sandbar where we got to go snorkeling and saw manatees in a quiet cove.

Friendly staff and excellent trip We wanted to go out to Cabbage Key for lunch, so we chartered a craft from Boats and Fun. For $210, a small open speedboat piloted by Robin Pokorny appeared right as agreed. We were using Boats and Fun essentially as a water taxi, not a charter, which meant we could leave the driving to Robin. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was a very clean craft which carried 6 passengers and the pilot, in excellent repair, with a sun shade—an altogether lovely experience.

Great Boats I rented the center console fishing boat for one day when I was on North Captiva during the week of Thanksgiving. The process was very smooth and easy. They went over everything I needed to know about the boat, from the GPS to navigating the areas around the island, and even had good fishing spots pin pointed on the GPS. The boat was very clean, like I was the first person to use it, although I had seen it rented the day before. If you're staying on North Captiva and want a boat, this is the easiest way to do it. I plan on coming back soon, but getting a boat for the week. A few pieces of advice - make sure you plan enough time to get to the marina on Captiva island for gas. If there's a line, you'll be waiting for a bit. Also, pay attention to the depth on the sonar - there are A LOT of shallow areas that you have the potential of running aground on.

A GPS is a must due to the many shallow areas in Pine Island Sound and the one on the boat was very user freindly. Capt. Mike was very helpful and great with the kids. A great day on the water.

Auf North Captiva verleiht Boats and Fun Golf Carts mit denen man prima die Insel erkunden kann. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß auf unseren Ausflügen und haben sehr viel gesehen: Seekühe, Delfine, wunderschöne Strände und nette Restaurants. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und qualifiziert, die Boote, Jetskies und Golf Carts in einwandfreiem Zustand! Sehr empfehlenswert!

They taught my husband everything he needed to know to operate the boats safely and effectively. We rented a boat when we when on vacation to North Captiva Island. I was very scared since my hubby is not the boating type but the eased my worries and we took a boat out. We took the TD boat to Cabbage Key for Lunch and to another island. The GPS told us exactly where to navigate out boat. It was a perfect day out on the water. We didn't get enough time to fish but we did get to see dolphins in our wake. I They put on a show just for us! The kids loved it.

We rented a boat for a day to go to some of the other islands around North Captiva and Matias was a great help in picking out the boat we should have along with showing us everything on the boat including the GPS. My son also rented some fishing poles for the week and we used them for a taxi ride over to Captiva one day. All of the employees we met were very helpful and knew a lot about the area.
